The Lost Utopia, also named the Legend of Shangri-la, Story of Peach Blossom Village, Tao Hua Yuan Ji (桃花源记), is drawn from a story written by Tao Yuanming (陶渊明) in China’s Jin Dynasty in 421 A.D.. The story tells a fisherman’s journey into a secluded village free from war or political strifes. This story has inspirated a lot of literature, TV drama and movies, among which the above video is a 15-minute animation made by Shenzhen Global Digital Creations Holdings Co. Ltd. (深圳环球数码有限公司), which won the top animation prize of China in 2006 and the Gold Prize of a Japanese TBS Animation Contest.
