Qinghai Province is the source of three major rivers of China, the Yangtze River, Yellow River and Lancang River. It is one of the most beautiful and uncontaminated regions of the world. The steppes, gobis, lakes, tents, villages, ethnic music and dance, sacred snow-capped mountains, Buddhist temples and Muslim mosques have provided spiritual consolation to tens of thousands of visitors every year. However, it is underdeveloped with most herders and farmers still earning less than 2 dollars a day.

On 7:49 am, April 14, 2010, a 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit Yushu Autonomous Region of Qinghai (yul-shul bod-rigs rang-skyong-khul), 4493m above sea level, with about 250,000 inhabitants. Rescue teams from around China are heading towards the quake-hit area.

Deeply sadded by the deadly disaster in Qinghai, See China Team shares this local self-made music video of Qinghai landscape and music with our readers and pray for the safety of all those we love and care for. Donations for Qinghai can be made through Chinese movie star Jet Li’s One Foundation, which has already organized three volunteer teams of rescuers directly to the quake-hit area. For Chinese details please see http://news.sina.com.cn/c/2010-04-14/191020074567.shtml, and English details see http://www.onefoundation.cn/html/en/beneficence_01.htm
